If you ever need to download a full account backup of your cPanel hosting account, this can be done using Jetbackup within your cPanel control panel.

Firstly, log into your cPanel account. If you are unsure on how to do this, please view the following help article – ‘How to log into cPanel‘, Then once logged in – under the Jetbackup heading, click on Full Account Backups

On the Jetbackup page you will see a list of the backups currently stored for your account. Click on the Generate Download button to the right of the backup that you would like to download

The backup will then display a note stating that you can only download 1 backup at a time. Click on the blue Add to Download Queue

Jetbackup will then begin processing the backup ready for you to download. You should see a Download in progress notice at the top of the page.

Please wait whilst this processes.

Once the backup has been processed, click on the Download button to the right of the backup you have chosen.

This will then download the full account backup to your device as a compressed .tar.gz file, which can be uncompressed on your local machine should you wish to check the files.

When the download is complete and you are happy with this – click on the Delete Download button to the right of the backup.  This will remove only the download file generated by the system, the original backup will still remain on our servers.
