At the start of June we’ve rolled out a new backup system for all shared hosting and around 50% of our cloud server customers who have the enterprise backup addon purchased.

After extensive testing we’re pleased to announce that the rollout went extremely well, and the new system is already managing many TB’s of customer data. We’ll be rolling it out to the remaining cloud server customers in the coming weeks.

The new backup system provided by JetBackup has been chosen as it provides the best allround backup solution, most importantly is a great user interface so you can browse and restore backups with ease. With a few clicks JetBackup allows you to restore files, databases, email accounts and more.

We take backups daily and rotate them as follows:

Daily for 7 days
Weekly for 4 weeks (taken on a Sunday)
Monthly for 3 months (taken on the 1st of the month)

Backups are included on all shared hosting packages free of charge, we believe backups are a key feature and shouldn’t be a paid addon to your hosting package (unlike many other companies). We encourage you to have a look in your cPanel under the ‘JetBackup’ section and have a browse so you’re familiar with the backups should you need to use them in an emergency.
